A Guide to Responsible and Compassionate Feeding of Street Dogs
Feeding street dogs is an act of kindness and compassion that can improve the lives and health of stray animals. However, it is also important to be responsible and respectful when feeding street dogs, as they may have different dietary needs and preferences than pet dogs, and may also cause inconvenience or nuisance to other people in the area.

Standout moments from "Les Mis" recordings: 1988-1990
My Les Mis watch- and listen-through in honor of the musical's 40th anniversary continues. Now I've reached the end of the '80s and the beginning of the '90s.
Drawing inspiration from @professorspork's Wicked Punctum Project, I'm choosing specific moments from recordings (video or audio, official or bootleg) that stand out the most in my mind, and writing down my thoughts about them.
Complete Symphonic Recording
Gary Morris (Jean Valjean), Philip Quast (Javert), Debbie Byrne (Fantine), Barry James (Thénardier), Gay Soper (Mme. Thénardier), Kaho Shimada (Éponine), Michael Ball (Marius), Anthony Warlow (Enjolras), Tracy Shayne (Cosette)
Anthony Warlow and Michael Ball’s “One more day before the storm…”/“Do I follow where she goes?” in “One Day More."
The CSR was my first Les Mis recording and it’s still the “default” version I tend to hear in my head when I think of the songs. It was almost impossible for me to choose a single standout moment from this recording. But after much internal debate, I finally chose Marius and Enjolras’s counterpoint in “One Day More.” Anthony Warlow’s Enjolras sings his call to arms with such burnished, dignified, stentorian fervor – the spirit of revolution embodied in powerful sound. And in counterpoint is Michael Ball’s Marius, with his equally rich and powerful yet “syrupy” (in a good way) and oh-so-emotional voice, singing of his conflict between love and duty. Their contrasting voices capture the two characters’ contrasting personalities in a beautiful and thrilling way. The moment is only made more exciting by chorus entering behind Warlow’s voice with “The time is now! The day is here” at the end of the passage, and by the symphonic orchestrations.
Honorable Mentions:
*Philip Quast’s militaristic, staccato “You have no rights! Come with me, 24601!” in “Confrontation.” No other Javert has ever sung that line so perfectly, not even Quast himself in the 10th Anniversary Concert.
*Ross McCall’s little cries, gasps, and struggling, pained voice as the mortally wounded Gavroche.
*Barry James’ wild, psychotic laughter as Thénardier as the end of “Dog Eats Dog.”
Original Vienna Cast Recording
Reinhard Brussman (Jean Valjean), Norbert Lamla (Javert), Sona MacDonald (Fantine), Franz Caencsits (Thénardier), Susanne Altschul (Mme. Thénardier), Jane Comerford (Éponine), Felix Martin (Marius), Alexander Diepold (Enjolras), Martina Dorak (Cosette)
Sona MacDonald’s sweet, gentle “Come to Me.”
If I weren’t specifying moments, I’d say that Sona MacDonald’s Fantine in general is the highlight of this recording. At age 27, she was younger than most other early Fantines, with a lighter, sweeter voice than was usually heard in the role at the time. This makes her capture the tragic youthfulness and vulnerability of Hugo’s Fantine, which more mature-voiced “leading lady” actresses can’t quite do. Of the specific moments in her performance, I finally settled on her death as the standout. Her voice is so gentle and tender, and of the Fantines I’ve heard so far, she’s the first Fantine from a replica production to sing the final note gently rather than belting it. (Riki Gal in the Israeli cast and Kútvölgyi Erzsébet in Hungary sang it gently too, but those were both non-replica productions.) In the musical’s early years, Fantine’s last moments seem to have typically been played as somewhat tortured – which admittedly is true to her death in the novel – but this version creates a sense of beautiful and well-deserved peace.
1989 Australia Day Concert
Normie Rowe (Jean Valjean), John Diedrich (Javert), Debbie Byrne (Fantine), William Zappa (Thénardier), Robyn Arthur (Mme. Thénardier), Laurą Hamilton (Éponine), Peter Cousens (Marius), Anthony Warlow (Enjolras), Marina Prior (Cosette)
Anthony Warlow's Enjolras in "The Final Battle."
I’m sure that Warlow’s Enjolras is one of the main draws to this filmed concert. We all know and love him from the Complete Symphonic Recording and here we get to see him! His whole performance is outstanding: so impassioned yet stately and dignified, a true “marble lover of liberty,” and of course his voice is magnificent. But I’d say that his standout moment is “The Final Battle,” where even in concert format, we can tell that this is where Enjolras snaps. Up to this point, his passion has been a contained fire, fierce yet not wild. But after seeing Gavroche die and knowing death is imminent for himself and all his friends too, the breaks come off, and he ferociously roars “LET US DIE FACING OUR FOES!!! MAKE THEM BLEED WHILE WE CAN!!” and “…until the earth IS FREEEEE!!!” This change at the end is much more effective than if he had spent the whole barricade sequence yelling and being unhinged (e.g. like David Burt in the OLC bootlegs).
Honorable mentions (good):
*Marina Prior’s facial expressions as Cosette, especially in “A Heart Full of Love” and as she fibs to Valjean in “Attack on Rue Plumet.” She’s just so adorable and seems so young and sweetly awkward. Even though she was 27, she’s the first Cosette so far whom I can fully believe is a teenage girl.
*The raw, anguished passion of Normie Rowe's "If I die, let me die!" in "Bring Him Home." I don't think I've ever heard another Valjean put as much into that line.
Honorable mentions (questionable):
*John Diedrich’s ghoulish face makeup as Javert.
*The fact that there are no costume changes for the ensemble, and the men all wear their student costumes, even in their earlier roles like the Bishop, the Foreman, or Bamatabois. As a result, it looks as if the Amis de l’ABC labor in a chain gang, buy Valjean’s soul for God, persecute Fantine, carouse at Thénardier's inn, etc.
*The fireworks in the sky that represent the gunfire at the end “The Final Battle” – that’s right, a brutal mass slaughter is represented by a display of fireworks, which inspire the audience to break into applause, as if they were applauding the revolutionaries’ deaths.
1989 London audio bootleg
Peter Karrie (Jean Valjean), Philip Quast (Javert), Grania Renihan (Fantine), Julian Forsythe (u/s Thénardier), Gay Soper (Mme. Thénardier), Jacinta Whyte (u/s Éponine), Mario Frangoulis (Marius), Michael Cantwell (Enjolras), Janet Mooney (u/s Cosette)
Jacinta Whyte’s fierce, growly “JUUUST the old man and THE GIRL!!” in “Attack on Rue Plumet.”
With this bootleg, we hear the role of Éponine shifting decisively away from the original Frances Ruffelle model. Jacinta Whyte’s voice is clear, warm, and slightly brassy yet beautiful, without a trace of the “kittenish waif” sound that has defined most Éponine voices so far. And she doesn’t sound as if she’s playing the character as a kittenish waif either. While of course the previous Éponines have also been fierce and defiant in “Attack on Rue Plumet,” this performance takes that scene to a new level. As she belts out her defiance with a snarl in her voice (and follows it with an impressive scream too), it's clear that this Éponine is no broken bird, but a true fighter who can take care of herself on the streets. In the past I’ve head some fans credit Lea Salonga with being the first actress to make Éponine strong and feisty rather than waif-like, but they obviously never heard this one!
Honorable Mentions:
*Michael Cantwell’s annoyed, half-growled “Marius, you’re late!” as Enjolras in “The ABC Café.”
*A very young Mario Frangoulis as Marius just can’t get the lyrics to “A Heart Full of Love” quite right! First, he sings “A heart full of you” when it should have been “…of song,” which probably adds to the intense embarrassment with which he sings the next line, “I’m doing everything all wrong!” Then, much worse, he sings “Your name is Marius Pontmercy” instead of “My name…” :)
Original Stockholm Cast Recording
Tommy Körberg (Jean Valjean), Jan Åström (Javert), Karin Glenmark (Fantine), Claes Malmberg (Thénardier), Beatrice Järås (Mme. Thénardier), Maria Rydberg (Éponine), Richard Carlsohn (Marius), Joakim Jennefors (Enjolras), Gunilla Backman (Cosette)
Karin Glenmark’s urgency and Tommy Körberg’s gentleness in “Come to Me.”
This is just a 21-track highlights recording, but I still managed to find a small standout moment. In “Come to Me,” Karin Glenmark’s Fantine belts “Look M’sieur, where all the children play!” (or rather its Swedish equivalent) in such a delirious, desperate tone, but then Tommy Körberg’s Valjean soothes her by singing “Be at peace, be at peace evermore” (or rather its Swedish equivalent) with utter softness and gentleness. Their contrasting delivery of these two lines perfectly capture the torments of Fantine and Valjean’s compassionate efforts to comfort and help her. Incidentally, I’ve just learned that Tommy Körberg voiced the Beast in the Swedish dub of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. While this album doesn’t convey much of his capacity for the Beast’s initial rage and ferocity– it unfortunately cuts “Valjean’s Soliloquy” and “Confrontation” – it most definitely conveys how lovely he must have been as the gentle, selflessly loving Beast in the later part of the movie.

Troll MDZS AU (part 1)
So the troll twin prides were seen as this iconic moiraillegence, you see. WWX himself was pretty into the aesthetics of it, like his own dad was JFM's moirail (you know, before he fucked off with CSR). JC obviously needs a moirail, anyway, the guy is so unlikeable he would be totally useless to society if WWX weren't here to make things interesting.
YZY seems okay with the general idea, WWX is a serious asset to Yunmeng (when he's not being a liability), but she's concerned JC is acting a little like having a moirail erases social status differences with that person (of course, she doesn't have that problem, madam Jin is of similar status to her, so that's perfectly uncomplicated).
Being JC is an exercise in self control, though. His moirail is constantly fantasizing about the concupiscent half of the quadrant. Says he's just curious ! Well it's distracting ! Doesn't he have, like, moirail stuff to do instead of talking about being pitch or flush with so and so. Ok, so JC could have supported WWX experimenting kismesissitude with JZX, because he's very punchable (and doesn't even take JYL seriously), but it takes some amount of respect WWX isn't able to muster, here. At some point, he even had the galls to suggest JZX could be JC's kismessis, and, like, ew, what the fuck WWX, don't push your dumb crushes onto other people ! There was LWJ, also, but WWX obviously never really took that seriously, thankfully (LWJ is awfully dull), even though LWJ seemed pretty hateful, in a weird passive way. But that's WWX, pretty easy to hate, really, if anybody deserves to be hated like that, it's him. NHS seemed to gravitate around WWX too, during that time. Suggested maybe he could auspiticize between him and JZX or LWJ, but neither of them was ever here when WWX and NHS would go on drunkenly discuss concupiscent relationships. Weird guy, they say the Nie are pretty good at pitch feelings, but NHS a total pushover. He's probably never been anything more than mildly annoyed at anybody in his life. Anyway, WWX's musings would be cut short when he actually punched JZX. JFM and JGS both agreed that things getting too pitched here might be a bad idea between big boy sects, and maybe that overly romantic promise between their wives was making things confusing for everyone (read WWX, and mayyybe JZX for those who care).
A lot happened, in the following years. WWX would end up finding out that a war is, ironically not as fertile a ground for pitch feelings as one would think. Sure, hate can bloom on a battlefield, but when that many people are busy trying to literally kill each other, there's only so much time for concupiscence to develop. War makes feelings go dull, or maybe it's just not having a core anymore. WWX really is the best moirail there is, but sometimes, it feels more like auspiticising between JC and JC. This would be untenable if WWX didn't have his shit together and JC actually had to do the moirail thing. Like, really commit.

The Ethics of the Invisible Hand
The invisible hand, a concept popularized by Adam Smith, describes how individuals pursuing their own self-interest in a free market can unintentionally contribute to societal well-being. While primarily an economic idea, the invisible hand raises profound ethical questions about the morality of self-interest, the role of regulation, and the consequences of market-driven decision-making.
Is Self-Interest Ethical?
One of the core debates surrounding the invisible hand is whether self-interested behavior can be morally justified if it leads to beneficial outcomes. Arguments include:
Ethical Justification: If free markets maximize overall wealth and efficiency, they may be seen as an ethical system that optimally allocates resources. This view aligns with utilitarianism, where actions are judged by their consequences.
Moral Ambiguity: The invisible hand does not guarantee equitable outcomes—markets can create wealth but also generate poverty, exploitation, and environmental harm. This raises concerns about moral responsibility beyond economic efficiency.
Virtue Ethics Perspective: Traditional moral frameworks, such as Aristotelian virtue ethics, emphasize intentional moral action rather than unintended consequences. The invisible hand suggests good can emerge from selfishness, challenging this view.
When the Invisible Hand Fails: Market Ethics and Externalities
The invisible hand operates under the assumption that free markets naturally lead to the best outcomes, but there are notable moral failures:
Market Failures: When competition is distorted (e.g., monopolies, crony capitalism), the invisible hand does not serve the common good.
Negative Externalities: Pollution, worker exploitation, and financial crises result when markets fail to price in the full social cost of economic actions.
Moral Limits of Markets: Not everything should be for sale—issues like healthcare, justice, and human dignity challenge the ethical boundaries of market-driven logic.
Regulation and Ethical Constraints
While Smith acknowledged the invisible hand's efficiency, he also recognized the need for moral norms and legal structures to guide markets. Ethical considerations include:
Balancing Freedom and Regulation: Governments play a role in curbing harmful market excesses while preserving economic liberty.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Businesses may have ethical obligations beyond profit, such as environmental stewardship and fair labor practices.
Wealth Distribution: If markets increase inequality, what ethical responsibility exists to address disparities? Should there be a "floor" for the poor and a "ceiling" for the rich?
Conclusion: The Invisible Hand as an Ethical Dilemma
The ethics of the invisible hand lies at the intersection of self-interest and collective well-being. While free markets can drive progress, they are not inherently moral systems—they require ethical oversight to ensure they do not result in exploitation, inequality, or harm. Whether the invisible hand is a force for good depends not just on economic laws but on the moral choices made by individuals, businesses, and governments.

Thinking about the Microsoft Teams emojis in my work chats (I work customer service for a call center) and what they are used for when it comes to reactions:
👍 - multiuse. In training classes it's used by coaches to indicate, "I see your question, I'm working on typing up my response now." Also used to convey understanding ("everyone take a look at the email I just sent"). Additionally used to indicate agreement, usually with another tenured CSR.
❤️ - Typically means "thank you" in response to receiving help, or a subtle way of saying "I care about you/hope things get better", especially in response to someone saying they just had a tough call. Occasionally used by supervisors and the like to express gratitude. They usually don't use this unless you're like, really cool with them.
🙁☹️🥺 - Used in response, typically sympathy, a reaction to a message like "I felt so bad for this caller, they were going through so much!"
🫠🙃😒 - Rarely utilized as a reaction, more commonly tacked onto dismayed phrases such as "my headset is acting up AGAIN" or "claims still won't load" or the classic "I'm going to throw my laptop out the window".
🤗🫂 - The former is most used by those over the age of 40, especially moms. The latter is more common for younger people in the workforce. A step beyond the ❤️ or even 🥺. Usually means, "if we were in the office, I would totally hug you".
😆😄 - The former here is more a "haha" reaction, the latter more akin to "yay!" See also the rarely used 🎉🥳 for additional "yay" reactions.
😬😲 - The classic "yikes", often in response to "I've been on this call for 30 minutes and can't get a word in".
🤨😮💨🙄 - Used to convey general exasperation or "oh geez" reactions. Often utilized when a caller is trying to get us to violate HIPAA or our release of information policies. The general idea is "really???"
:3c - Displayed only in very specific circumstances. I have typed this sequence exactly once into a work chat and it's because my coworker had a Pokémon profile picture in Teams. It felt so freeing though
#call center life#it really is kind of amazing how technology has changed the way we communicate!#i was a little sad to see Skype go but when Teams let us use reactions i was like 👀

Do non-profit organizations pay GST?

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a comprehensive tax levied on the supply of goods and services in India. While businesses are generally required to register for GST and comply with tax regulations, many non-profit organizations (NPOs) wonder whether they are liable to pay GST. This article explores whether non-profits need GST registration and under what circumstances they are taxed.
Are Non-Profit Organizations Required to Register for GST?
Non-profit organizations (NPOs), including trusts, societies, and charitable institutions, are not automatically exempt from GST. Their liability depends on the nature of their activities and the type of income they generate.
If an NPO is engaged in the supply of goods or services and its annual turnover exceeds the prescribed threshold of ₹40 lakh (for goods) or ₹20 lakh (for services), GST registration is required. For organizations in special category states, the threshold is lower at ₹20 lakh for goods and ₹10 lakh for services.
If your non-profit operates in Tamil Nadu, opting for GST registration in Coimbatore ensures compliance with tax laws.
When Do Non-Profits Have to Pay GST?
Non-profits must pay GST in the following cases:
Commercial Activities: If an NPO provides services or sells goods for a fee, GST applies. For example, if a charitable trust sells handmade products to raise funds, GST is applicable.
Sponsorship & Advertisements: If an NGO receives sponsorship or earns revenue through advertisements, GST is levied.
Paid Events & Workshops: If an NPO organizes training sessions, workshops, or ticketed events for a fee, GST is chargeable.
Services to Businesses: If a non-profit provides services to companies (e.g., consultancy, CSR-related projects), GST registration is mandatory.
For smooth compliance, choosing online GST registration in Coimbatore helps NPOs fulfill their tax obligations.
When Are Non-Profits Exempt from GST?
Non-profit organizations can claim GST exemption in the following cases:
Charitable Activities: Services directly related to education, healthcare, or public welfare may be exempt.
Donations & Grants: If an NPO receives funds as pure donations without any service in return, GST does not apply.
Government-Approved Exemptions: Some NGOs registered under Section 12AA of the Income Tax Act may receive GST exemptions on specific activities.
How to Get GST Registration for Non-Profits?
If your NPO is liable to pay GST, here’s how to register:
Collect Required Documents – PAN, trust registration certificate, bank details, and address proof.
File Application on GST Portal – Submit the details online.
Receive GSTIN – After verification, the organization gets a unique GST Identification Number (GSTIN).
For seamless registration, opting for GST registration in Coimbatore through expert services ensures accuracy and compliance.
Conclusion
Non-profits are not automatically exempt from GST. If they engage in commercial activities, sponsorships, or charge fees for services, GST applies. To ensure compliance, non-profits can opt for online GST registration in Coimbatore and follow necessary tax regulations.

Cars 3 Experiments AU
So this AU is based on Cars 3 around the next gen racers and racing centers, basically the racing centers looked like scientific labs to me split the information into different parts enjoy
Part 1 (the theory)
So i noticed alot how rusteze racing center looked crazily like a laboratory and the workers looked kinda like scientists, then i noticed on the sides of the trainees they have numbers and obviously they're colored, yes they have names but we dont acknowledge that yet! These facts kinda made me think "hmm what if they were lab experiments"
Part 2 (the AU scene setting)
The racing centers: So as we know Sterling is very focused on the money hes a very money focused guy, he already had an idea of who he wanted the next rscer to be for rusteze, and the Training center is called a training center thats all canon and it stays
But in this AU the training center is its name as a coverup, the center is a laboratory for experimenting on possible racers to improve, modify and alter them to make them better faster and stronger. Alot of these are pretty bad experiments and of course theyre out through alot of training where cruz used to work, the part lighting was shown was the nicest part of the facility its where the racers would prefer because its the easiest part of their day, the simulator, treadmills, hanging with the nicest worker there (cruz).
There are dorms for the experiments they generally share everything think of it like a backpackers hostel
It can be tough for them and 90% of them didnt even know thats what was gonna happen leading to the next part
Part 3 (The experiments)
Theres mainly 2 types of cars at the racing center the ones who were tricked and the ones who were sold
The tricked
Those who were tricked were the ones who wanted to become racers, they saw advertisements etc inviting inspiring racers to come and train to be taken on by either Rusteze or another company
Some cars who were tricked are
George New-Win
J.D mcpillar
Chase Racelott
Harvey road cap
ronald
Michael rotor
The sold
Some racers were sold, either those who were found on the streets and sold for a bit of cash mainly black market type scrap. Others by their parents it all depends on their situations. Some companies will pay more than others just for more racers to experiment on.
Some Sold racer in this are (all from different companies)
Gabriel
Kurt
Aiden
Flip Dover
Ryan laney
Jackson Storm
Just to name a few
Part 4 (Companies)
So each company of course has their own lab/"training center" except for some one main being Dinoco, Dinoco is a much kinder company, they prefer training properly using skill and not modifying csrs to the extreme other companies like
IGNTR
Rusteze (under sterling)
View Zeen
Vitoline
and many many more
Alot of these companies **Cough** IGNTR & Rusteze **Cough** Will go to the extreme and buy cars from whoever is willing to send them off mainly looking for youngsters from 5-18 as they are much more easier to modify snd experiment with
Alot of the cars have been there most of their life specially those Sold to the companies, these racers were often isolated at young ages or only stuck to specific groups such as their room mates while others only interacted with 1 car besides the scientists one prime example is Jackson Storm
Part 5 (extra info)
Those who were there since theyvwere verg young barely know anything other than the lab, they have very little friends and were often isolated until about 13 to ensure they are properly trained, an example of this is Kurt, Ronald, Gabriel and Aiden, we mainly see them together they all share a room and are often trained together although Aiden is often taken for more experimentation, Kurt and gabriel not so much and ronald more so than the other 2 aswell.
In some instances Trainers and Racers are assigned as a duo and are isolated from other experiments my key example being
Jackson storm and Ray reverham
As Jackson was sold to his company at a young age he was pretty much automatically assigned to Ray
Jackson grew up only knowing Ray he never really developed the proper social skills he needed for the real world leading to his inability to properly make friends at races.
End
Asks are open for questions about the AU! Art to come soon hopefully!!!!
